2000 Chateau Picque Caillou, Red Bordeaux – 750ml

$35.00

- Pessac-Leognan, France -

Deep rich garnet in color, very little visual appearance of aging. Maybe a tinge of orange on the rim, but still as dense and dark as can be. Aromas of freshly crushed berries, thick almost syrupy sweet fruit on the nose. Plenty of cedar and char as well. While this wine is still too young to drink, it offers a tantalizing glimpse of the future. Concentrated red fruit with thick black tar. Tannins are a bit strong, but age will soften that out. It tastes like the 2000’s are coming along as predicted. I think this will continue to improve with more aging. 90 pts - Drink 2008-2015
